X Factor Vision Statement:

X Factor Church is a family of disciples who strive to be a Christ-centered, Bible believing and practicing church. We love God and pursue the Great Commission to spread the gospel and draw others’ hearts closer to God. We encourage people to come as they are, bringing their mistakes and insecurities to Jesus. We seek to love and support each other through life's hills and valleys. We intend to equip and encourage each other to grow closer to Christ in our everyday lives. We aspire to engage our church family and community by sharing Christ’s love and salvation. This is accomplished by teaching and applying God’s Word in our lives, weekend services, weekday fellowships, and outreach events. We are led by a Board of Elders who seek to engage, encourage, and equip X Factor Church members to become all that God has called them to be.

Pastor Wanted:

X Factor Church is looking for a devout man of God to guide our congregation, coordinating with our Elders and Deacons. He will join and lead us through sound biblical preaching into solid, Christ-centered, intentional relationships with our congregation and the community. As we pursue God’s will, we desire a man of integrity who is confident in his faith and belief in God, humble in the conviction of his calling and able to inspire, teach, and lead our church family. We need a leader with a compassionate, loving heart for God’s people who is willing to walk alongside them through their Christian journey. We want someone who will support our mission to make Christ known to others as well as our aspiration to be all we are called to be in Christ.

Senior Pastor: Job Description

The Vision of X Factor Church: “To engage, encourage, and equip people to become everything that God has called them to be.”
Objective: To join alongside and help lead X Factor’s family with sound Biblical preaching and intentional relationships, working alongside our Elders, Deacons, and other church leadership.

Personal Requirements

  • A mature relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior.
  • Regular practice of spiritual disciplines: Prayer, Meditation on and Study of God’s Word, Fasting, Simplicity, Solitude. Submission, Service, Confession, Worship, Guidance, and Celebration.
  • A person of prayer.
  • Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit and knows how to walk in the power of the Spirit. Characterized by Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
  • A man who seeks God’s Will in all matters.
  • A healthy balance of work and rest in their life.
  • A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church.
  • In agreement with the doctrines of X Factor Church.
  • A man who meets the qualifications that Paul outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and in Titus 1:7-9:
    • Above reproach/Upright, Holy, Respectable (He must be well thought of by outsiders), The husband of one wife, and He must manage his own household well.
    • Able to teach (Able to give instruction in sound doctrine, Able to rebuke those who contradict sound doctrine, Hold firm to the Word of God).
    • Sober-minded, Self-controlled, Not a drunkard.
    • Not quarrelsome, Hospitable, Gentle, Not arrogant, Not violent, Not quick-tempered, Not a lover of money/Greedy, A lover of good, Disciplined.
    • He must not be a recent convert.

Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Clear ability to preach and teach the Bible in an accurate and engaging way.
  • Modeling and leading heartfelt worship through Biblical preaching coordinated with song that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.
  • Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams.
  • Ability to work closely with other Ministry Staff, Elder Board and Ministry Leaders to see that objectives are accomplished
  • Proven ability to partner and coordinate with the Elders and Deacons to develop and implement a strategy to fulfill the Mission and Vision of X Factor Church.
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff.
  • Proven time management skills.
  • A willingness and ability to pioneer new things and inspire others to new initiatives.
  • Degree in Ministry and/or Ministry Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Teaching/Preaching

  • Prepare and preach a weekly sermon:
    • He should be a studious and well prepared Biblical preacher, sharing the Word of God in spirit and truth.
    • His messages will always point to the loving and saving grace of Jesus Christ and man's need for His forgiveness.
    • His messages will proclaim the gospel to the church and surrounding community.
  • Lead a weekly midweek Bible Study.
  • Work with Elders and other ministry leaders in preparation of teachings for special events.

Mission/Vision

  • Along with the Elders; identify, teach, and train Ministry Leaders/Deacons to serve in the church 
  • Facilitate/enable/support Elders and Deacons in coherent and coordinated pursuit of the Mission and Vision of X Factor Church.
  • In coordination and partnership with the Elders, encourage, empower, and develop future church leaders.
  • Facilitate (engage, encourage, and equip) the application of the Vision of X Factor Church, helping the Elders develop programs that pursue the Great Commission and foster the application of the Great Commandment in the lives of X Factor Church members and demonstrate it to our community.
  • Support and champion the Mission/Vision of X Factor Church.

Shepherding

  • Partner with the Elders to shepherd X Factor Church.
  • Perform hospital visits.
  • Counsel with church members.
  • Visit with members in their homes, in the community, etc… outside of church.
  • Perform weddings, funerals and other special events as need arises.
  • Lead the congregation with a servant’s heart and with respect.

Administration

  • Lead weekly Elder meetings and set the agenda.
  • Familiarize himself with the technology related systems and processes of the church (Subsplash, Proclaim, Planning Center, A/V, GSuite, X32, Luminaire, Wirecast, etc…).
  • Familiarize himself with the physical systems and processes of the church (Coffee Bar, Lights, Keys, Room Set-Up, Documents, etc…).
  • Work with the Elders and Ministry Leaders to establish a church calendar of events.
  • Work with the Elders, Finance Team, Deacons, and Ministry Leaders to set an annual church budget.
  • Participate in the business, financial, legal, etc… operations, management and decisions for the church.
  • Coordinate with Elders, the Music Director, Staff, and Volunteers for Sunday services and special events.
  • Along with the Elder Board, serve as a representative of X Factor Church in civic matters.
  • Work alongside the Elders in implementing church structure in accordance with the bylaws.

Result-Based Job Description

Relationships:

The Senior Pastor position requires someone who will build positive relationships with people, both within the congregation and within the community

Result #1 The Senior Pastor builds positive relationships with the individual members of the congregation, knowing their names, their families, etc…  and welcomes first time visitors.
Result #2 The Senior Pastor creates healthy relationships with Ministry Leaders, Elders and Deacons. This is done through encouragement, teaching, challenging and building up church leaders, pointing them towards Christ through corporate church worship and teaching and through the example of the Senior Pastor’s daily life.
Result #3 The Senior Pastor builds positive relationships with the leadership of local schools, businesses, neighborhood associations, and churches in order to foster partnerships and provide opportunities to minister to the community.
Result #4 The Senior Pastor builds positive relationships with the leaders of other churches in our community and fosters strong cooperative relationships with other churches and parachurch organizations.

Recruiting and Supervision:

The Senior Pastor position requires someone who enjoys seeing others succeed and grow in their leadership abilities. The Senior Pastor must equip others to learn to lead through example and guidance.

Result #5 All Ministry Leaders and Deacons receive training and instruction and are encouraged and challenged in their God-given talents and abilities, both to serve and to equip volunteers.
Result #6 The Senior Pastor will help to identify and recruit individual members of the congregation who have the desire and capability of joining the Elders as shepherds of X Factor Church, becoming a Deacon, or becoming a Ministry Leader.
Result #7 The Senior Pastor will help the Elders improve processes for recruiting new Elders and Deacons.

Discipleship/Shepherding/Evangelism:

The Senior Pastor position exists to engage with, encourage and equip the congregation, through relationships and sound Biblical teaching and counseling, to grow in their relationship with Christ, as evidenced both through a life of faithfully following His Word and through increased maturity, knowledge of doctrine, and Biblical principles.

Result #8 The Senior Pastor will point individuals to faith in Christ, both through teaching/preaching and through a daily lifestyle of evangelism as evidenced by testimony.
Result #9 The Senior Pastor will lead a congregation that is growing in their relationship with and maturity in Christ as evidenced by increased volunteers in ministry/teaching/leadership.
Result #10 The Senior Pastor will work with other Ministry Leaders to set-up Missions Opportunities, whether that be local or foreign, to provide opportunities for members to serve God and share Him with others.
Result #11 The Senior Pastor will work alongside the Eldes, under God’s Direction and Leading, to establish/affirm a broad Mission/Vision for the church as well as a narrower seasonal/annual focus of ministry and growth.
Result #12 The Senior Pastor will facilitate counsel of church members in matters of individual, marital, and family care. Help people with issues such as dealing with stress, grief, conflict resolution, etc.

Administration:

The Senior Pastor position requires someone who is able to, not only, shepherd and spiritually lead the congregation, but also help manage the business aspects of the church.

Result #13 The Senior Pastor will ensure that necessary business, financial, legal, etc… filings or payments are completed on time, and all bills are paid. While not responsible for doing these things himself, he is responsible for making sure they are done.
Result #14 The Senior Pastor will ensure that event planning and preparation are completed in a timely manner and properly communicated.
Result #15 The Senior Pastor will set and run regular meetings with Elders, Deacons, Staff and Ministry Leaders to ensure everyone is operating with a unified mission and vision and any questions or concerns can be addressed.
Result #16 The Senior Pastor will address, in coordination with the Elders, any disciplinary/personal issues that arise with Elders, Deacons, Ministry Leaders or Staff, whether noticed himself or brought to his attention by others.

Accountability:

The Senior Pastor is both part of the Staff and Elder Board and accountable to the Elders. He should also develop mentor-mentee relationships with other pastors in Albuquerque to foster accountability, outside counsel, and camaraderie.

Salaries and Benefits:

Salary: Total compensation of $50,000–$65,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience to be paid as a combination of salary and housing allowance.

Sundays: 8:00AM-1:00PM
Tuesdays: 4:00PM-8:30PM
Other Office Hours: TBD, minimum of 15 hours per week on site
